Terms of Hire
Hire Period
To secure your order, a 50% payment of the total hire cost should be paid by cheque. The balance is payable no later than 14 days prior to the event. For orders taken within 14 days of the event, payment should be made in full.
Our items will be on hire for 1-4 days, extra days can be discussed at the time of booking.
During the hire period, items will be the sole responsibility of the hirer. At all times the hire items will remain the property of Vintage Classic Crockery.
A £100 refundable damage deposit will be required at the time of ordering. This will be returned once items have been returned and checked for damage or loss. China or glassware which are found chipped will be charged as broken. All damaged or lost items must be paid for by the hirer.
Delivery & Collection
Hire items can be collected from the address specified at the time of your order. We can deliver & pick up china at a cost of 40p per mile.
Cancellation
Should you cancel your order one month or more prior to the event date there is no charge and your deposit will be returned. If cancellation takes place between one week and four weeks of the event date, the 50% pre-paid deposit is non-refundable. If The Vintage Classic Crockery cancellation takes place 7 days or less of the event date the full amount is non refundable. Your cancellation should be in writing to the address given on the order confirmation. Voicemail or text messages are not acceptable.
Replacement Costs
The costs to replace vintage items is expensive and therefore we have to charge for breakages or loss. Some unique hires have a higher charge.
- China Items £3.50 per item
- Teapots £6.00 each
- Cake Stands £15 to £20 depending on size
- Glassware £3.50 per item
Tablecloths and Napkins
If these are left damp they are prone to mildew, so please ensure linen is dry, with remaining food cleared away before being packed. Damage caused by mildew, heavy staining or candle and cigarette burns will be charged at £15 per tablecloth and £1.00 per napkin.
Washing Up Service
We wash up for free, all we ask is that items are carefully scraped of food prior to being repackaged. Please remember our vintage china is very fragile.
Packaging
All items will be packaged carefully for delivery and after the event they should be re-packaged and placed into the original boxes .
Checking and Signing
All items should be checked carefully upon delivery and the delivery note signed by the hirer. It is very important that any problem be brought to our attention at at time of delivery.
Please remember our items are vintage, due to their age so some items will show signs of wear.
Liability
Vintage Classic Crockery will accept no responsibility for damage or injury caused to person, persons or product, as a result of this hire agreement. All goods are hired and are the responsibility of the hirer until they are returned to Vintage Classic Crockery.
